Notes

2020-05-02 - According to factory specifications, the organ chambers were enclosed by the church, while the casing, display pipes, and grille was supplied by the factory. The instrument was moved to the congregation's new sanctuary (and possibly rebuilt at the same time?) in 1963. It was rebuilt by Lauck Pipe Organ Company in 1990, including the installation of a new console. The sanctuary was found to have serious structural damage shortly after the heavy New Year’s snowfall in 1999. Two-thirds of the roof trusses had cracked, and the building was deemed in imminent danger of collapse. The church was immediately condemned by city inspectors, and the congregation had the structure demolished as a hazard to the surrounding neighborhood. The Lauck console was purchased by Cottonwood Heights Christian Reformed Church in Jenison, Michigan. -Chad Boorsma
