Notes

2008-01-08 - Identified through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- This organ was "created" primarily from the Guenther Organ Co. instrument originally built for Mt. Tabor Presbyterian in Portland. The Great, Swell, and Pedal all control pipes. But the Choir only controls the chimes and is available as a coupling manual. The expression shutters are from the 1943 Estey originally built as opus 3147 for First Methodist in Portland. The Swell 8' Oboe is a labial set of pipes and may be from the 1910, 2/9, T-P Estey (Op. 821) that preceded the Guenther. At the time of my visit in 1994, the Great 8' Cornopean controlled what sounded like a set of 8' Quintadena pipes. The Sforzando toe stud was not original to the Guenther console and was added by Minear for this installation. The organ was dedicated on October 27, 1985. Originally documented June 25, 1990. Updated: December 28, 1994. -Database Manager
