Notes

2008-01-21 - Identified from factory documents and publications courtesy of Stephen Schnurr. Replaced 1923 Möller opus 3817. Chapel also housed Möller opus 9802. -Database Manager

2012-01-24 - Updated through online information from Jeff Scofield. -- Op. 3817 was nearly destroyed when the sanctuary burned Summer 1934; replaced in 1935 by Möller Op. 6304 that retained some parts from Op. 3817; 4-rank Antiphonal division added in 1963 as Möller Op. 9802; new Möller console added in 1978; other stops added over the years. -Database Manager

2023-09-20 - The 1935 Moller was placed in the gallery of the congregation's first building at S. Caroline St & Lena Ct. (south of E Baltimore St). A fire in the church 1934, caused the bell in the tower to come down through the roof and through the organ. The present building (Loch Raven Blvd.) dates from the late 1940s. The 1935 organ was originally in the old building, and was moved to the new location. All of the pipes are in two facing chancel chambers. Over the years new pipes and chests have been added, and some things rearranged. Due to extreme tight quarters, the organ has suffered from lack of access to many areas, in the chamber. Even access for tuning is hampered. Water leaks have added to the problems. *Sun* paper, Aug 16, 1934, shows a photo of the damage to the organ in gallery. This writer has tuned and made repairs to the organ in recent years. -Steve Bartley
