2008-11-09 - Updated through on-line information from Michael Brown. -- I was told by an elderly member that this organ was originally a Möller tracker. It was converted to pneumatic action after a fire in the boiler room in the 1930s that caused some damage to the organ. This Möller was replaced in the 1970s with a Schantz. My mother was on the organ committee. Shortly after the new Schantz was installed. My family relocated to NC. I understand now that the entire sanctuary was recently remodeled and that the Schantz was rebuilt by John Dower and Company of Lincolton, NC. The sanctuary layout was reversed so the organ was relocated within the sanctuary. -Database Manager
