2008-01-31 - Identified through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- The theatre opened in 1920 as the Mercy Theatre. But a year later, it was renamed the Capitol Theatre. At some point in its history, it was also known as the State Theatre. Reportedly the organ was originally installed in chambers at the back of the stage, and was then later properly installed in the chambers provided. It was a Style 210 with: 16 Harmonic Tuba, 16 Diaphonic Diapason, 8 Tibia Clausa, 8 Clarinet, 8 Orchestral Oboe, 8 Violin, 8 Violin Celeste, 8 Concert Flute, 8 Vox Humana. In 1941, it was moved by Balcom and Vaughan to the Roller Bowl Rink in Tacoma, WA. by Balcom & Vaughan. It was destroyed by fire there on August 11, 1975. -Database Manager
