2013-12-20 - Updated through online information from John McCraney. -- First Baptist built a rather large new-colonial church in the late 1950s, with balconies on three sides. Organ chambers are large and high at each side of the choir loft in the front. The church is wide and lofty enough for full tone openings to project into the nave beyond the balcony rails. The same size openings are also on the choir side of each chamber. The Moller was moved by Moller to the new church and installed in one chamber, entirely under shutters. There was a brief account of this along with a photo of two Moller men and the pipes. The Moller was replaced by a two-manual Wicks c. 1990s, divided between both chambers. Despite carpeting and cushioning, the church has a 'spacious'-sounding acoustic. -Database Manager
