2013-08-31 - Updated through online information from Scot Huntington. -- Subsequent to the fire, officials from the Andover Organ Company were allowed into the damaged building to inspect the organ. On August 30, 2013, it was reported the organ is largely intact, but heavily damaged by water and fallen debris. The organ is not a total loss, but is restorable; however, many pipes have sustained heat damage -- i.e. popped solder seams on zinc basses, split wood pipes, etc. The windchests got soaked. Reports indicate it is likely the building will be demolished, and while the church would like to see the organ saved, they do not have the resources to restore the organ and hope it can be saved through Samaritan efforts, for a new home. At an unknown point in the past, about one third of the organ's pipework was stolen, and never replaced. -Database Manager
