2018-10-21 - World War II intervened and, when the organ was re-priced after the war, Aeolian-Skinner's price had more than doubled; plus, the organ would have been installed in six different areas of the nave; Casavant was contacted for a quote on that stoplist and came up with a much lower quote, helped in no small way by a favorable rate-of-exchange; however, Casavant proposed a more efficient installation at an even lower price for the same size organ, though with a more up-to-date tonal scheme; Casavant got the contract and built one of the most important organs of that era. -Database Manager
