2023-08-08 - When the organ was moved from Hanover College following the destruction (by tornado) of the hall it was located in, it was supposed to be "restored and augmented" without tonal changes to the original pipework. However, it couldn't really be called a restoration as much of the original chestwork was converted to e-p unit action so several ranks could be unified, and tonal changes (voicing and regulation) were made to the original pipework. Many of the pipe ranks added were of dubious origin and some never worked well with the overall tonal scheme, especially the Choir Cymbale III. The "party horn" was never tonally successful either, though it did work well in the display. -Shawn P. Keith
