Notes

2008-03-17 - Identified through on-line information from Robert Spalding. -- I am unfamiliar with the instrument prior to the 1960s rebuilds and alterations. 1968 rebuild by the Gundling company was required due to water damage. The main chests were replaced and electromechanical action installed. Five ranks of new pipework were added at that time. The console was rebuilt and solid-state controls were added at a later date. Instrument speaks into chapel as well as the main church through a common wall. I had heard that this organ and the one at St. Mary's RC in Lancaster, were derived from a common antecedent in Philadelphia, but cannot corroborate this. -Database Manager

2019-11-04 - According to the July 13, 2019, edition of "Lancaster Online," the organ was used for its last service the next day, to be replaced by an Allen. The article said that the organ received a new console from Gundling in 1948, who rebuilt the organ in 1968 and 1994. -Database Manager
