2023-05-28 - Mann & Trupiano substancially altered the specification. The original Moller Great wind chest and its pipework was discared in favor of an electro-mechanical windchest with European pipework. A similar wind chest was added to the Choir division mounted above the Moller wind chests making tuning extremely difficult. Many of the Moller ranks were swapped out. The organ was releathered during this revision. The console was renovated, being stripped to the shell, fitted with new keyboards, a Peterson ISC 4000 control system and new stop controls. Unfortunately the firm abandoned the project before the renovations could be completed leaving portions of the work unfinished. During Super Storm Sandy the roof suffered damage which allowed substantial leakage into the organ chamber. A local firm was hired to repair the water damage but little was done. The organ languished for many years, barely playable, with the organist attempting repairs with little success. A new firm has recently been hired and is making some progress. -Alan Binger
