2008-04-02 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The building was originally known as Harmony Hall. It had been a rental property owned by the Jewish community. Vacant since the Great Storm of Sept. 8, 1900, it was offered for sale to the Scottish Rite bodies in 1902. The exterior was refurbished, but it was not until 1914 that the interior was completely refurbished. It was at this time that the William Browning Lockhart family made the gift of the organ. It was all lost to fire on Feb. 5, 1928. Source: S.R. Cathedral website - "History" section. -Database Manager
