2011-11-17 - Updated through online information from Darrin Upp. -- As a Miami U. organist, I played most of the organs in Oxford, Ohio at one time or another. This organ was barely in working order in 1982. It was kept padlocked and was not in use after the merger of the two Presb. churches in Oxford many years earlier. When I tried to play it about 1982, there were wasp's nests in the pipework and much of did not work. I don't remember 100 percent, but I thought the nameplate listed 1950 as the date. The console was set into a somewhat deeper pit than was usual. I know nothing whatever further about the state of this instrument. This is the oldest Presb. building in Oxford, built around 1838. The United Presb. owned both buildings when I was in attendance. -Database Manager
