Winston Salem, North Carolina St. Timothy's Episcopal Church There has been discussion as to the date of the organ. It was first listed at l860; then l851 was discussed, but we feel the date of l848 is the more correct date. George Jardine made this instrument. Original Location: St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Pittsboro, NC, from l848(?) To April 26 2008, approximately 160 years. Present Location: St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 3575 Parkway Drive, Winston Salem NC 27103. Moved to St. Timothy's Chapel on April 26, 2008 by John Farmer Pipe Organ Inc of 3060 Fraternity Church Rd Winston Salem NC. Instrument Specifications: 4 Stops: Dulciana, Chimney Flute, Principal, Bass. 3 ranks of pipes: 4' Principal(common Metal- bottom 6 notes Wood - total 54 pipes) 8' Dulciana (common metal 37 pipes - bottom 17 pipes wooden common bass) 8' Chimney flute(wood with Chimney stoppers 54 pipes). Drawknobs, one manual keyboard of 54 notes Ivory covers. Has Hitch down swell shutters. Case is Faux Grain on Pine; finish is original and has not been restored. All the common metal pipes are cone tuned and the pipes are in extremely good condition and the flutes are as pristine as the day they were made. One could compare this instrument to a one owner car that was driven only on Sundays to church. It is a one owner organ until St Timothy's purchased and moved it on April 26, 2008. I helped John with the installation of the instrument in St Timothy's as we both are members there. [Received via e-mail from Ben Mitchell 1 May 2008.]
