2010-03-15 - Updated through online information from Chad Boorsma. -- The organ is a rebuild of Skinner Opus 753, which was originally built for St. Paul's Episcopal Church in New Rochelle, New York, and moved to Norwalk in 1992. The 26-rank Skinner organ was purchased by the Norwalk parish for $25,000 and was installed by John Randolph of New York City. Randolph added 21 ranks to the organ -- some from the congregation's previous 1930 Möller instrument and some from other sources. Reuter added new pipework and chests to blend with the old, and the Skinner console was given a solid state switching and combination system. The front case and facade are newly designed. One of the added stops, the St. Nicholas Trumpet, is named in honor of Rector Nicholas G. Lang and is mounted over the west door. -Database Manager
