2016-06-05 - Updated through online information from Christopher J.K. Ha.
The organ was purchased for a reported $60,000 (1928). The Akron Civic Theatre opened on April, 20th 1929, but the theatre organ, a style 240, was originally destined for the Loew's Theatre in Richmond, Virginia. The organ installation was switched to Akron when it was evident construction here was proceeding well ahead of schedule. The console was originally finished in mahogany - only to be covered with plaster stucco and trimmed in gold to match the decor of the theatre.

When the organ was restored and expanded in 2000, the organ console stripped of the plaster stucco and refinished in cream white paint with gold leaf and mahogany accents. -Database Manager
