2006-10-25 - Updated through online information from Stephen Paul Kowalyshyn. -- The three standard couplers are operated by thumb pistons beneath the Swell manual. A circular dial indicator shows the level of wind in the bellows, which was originally hand pumped. The pumping lever was still in the organ chamber ~1965. The Swell shoe is ornamental cast iron in the shape of a shoe sole. The Swell Bourdon 16' has a separate stop knob for the bottom 12 notes, hence the 12 stops/11 ranks count. I visited the organ again about 1995. Less of it was working then, especially the two tubular pneumatic offset Bourdon 16' stops. I'm quite sure the Historical Society intends to retain the instrument. -Database Manager
2014-02-07 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- There are some conflicting dates between the stoplist presented below, and the account for Fourteenth Christian Reformed Church in Holland, Michigan. According to that account, the organ wasn't removed until 1922, and next went to Sixth Reformed church also in Holland, Michigan. -Database Manager
