2013-07-26 - The church building, dedicated in 1972, was designed for a pipe organ with additional steel to reinforce the balcony floor. For optimal acoustics, terrazzo flooring was placed under the pews and in the chancel, and the balcony side walls were installed at an angle. The organ was dedicated at the 10 a.m. service on November 6, 1977, by Jean Janson, church organist. A dedicatory recital was held November 13 of the same year with Danford Byrens, Olivet College music professor, at the console. Church committee members were seeking a particular type of organ to accommodate baroque tones that would fit with traditional Lutheran worship (information provided by the church). -Database Manager
2013-07-26 - The organ was restored in 2010 by Lauck Pipe Organ Company. The work included replacing rubber that was deteriorating, installing a new digital memory system because the original combination action was failing, and relocating the console closer to the organ case. A rededication concert was given by Director of Music, Debbie Candy. -Database Manager
