2008-11-03 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This organ had as its origins a used, 2/7, 1915 Johnston installed by Balcom and Vaughan in 1942 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Seattle - the organ's 3rd home. At that time, it was electrified and enlarged to 2/9 and was given a new Reuter console. When they built their new church in the late 1950s and acquired a new 3/14 Wicks (1958), the old sanctuary became a chapel and the Johnston/B and V was sold to Mr. Anderson for around $600.00. Other ranks were added over the years: an E.M. Skinner 8' Gamba from Plymouth Congregational; a Kimball 4' Flute d'Amour from Ritzville, WA; a Gottfried Diapason; a ca. 1902 Flautina from Olympia; a 1945 Dennison 8' Clarinet from Trinity Episcopal in Seattle; a 1940 Möller Muted Trumpet from an unidentified source in Baltimore, MD; a Kimball Vox Humana from a Lutheran church in Hoquiam, WA; and a new Aeolian-Skinner III Scharf. The windchests were duplex action Aeolian chests which were actually set into the floor of one of the bedrooms. The console fittings were from Laukhuff, and the bench was also from the Plymouth Congregational E.M. Skinner. When Mr. Anderson died the organ was parted-out by the family. Source: extant organ documented April 5, 1997. -Database Manager
