2008-11-24 - Identified through information posted to PipeChat by Steven Weyand Folkers November 23, 2008: -- Enlargement of Bradford organ of 1990. Dedication service November 30, 2008. "We acquired a late 1940s Tellers organ from a shuttered church in 1989 and expanded it to 17 ranks. This rather basic organ served its purpose well, but there was a lack of dynamic flexibility as the Great was voiced rather boldly and the Swell always had the character of a Choir division. About seven years ago we had the good fortune to acquire a disused Hillgreen & Lane Swell division along with its 3 h.p. blower (which almost instantly solved some tuning issues when it replaced the old 1.5 h.p. blower). The former Swell division is now the Choir, and has been enhanced with the addition of a Tierce and a Clarinet. The new Swell contains 12 ranks. I am impressed with the artistry our organ builder Walter Bradford has demonstrated in incorporating pipework and chests from several builders into an instrument that possesses that basic integrity of sound that is often lacking in such "assembled" instruments. To produce a pleasing blend from such disparate parts is, in my opinion, a work of art in itself." -Database Manager
