2008-12-05 - "The organ was built by Walker of London, and was on exhibition at the Crystal Palace in 1851 and purchased for St. George's Church in 1856. The instrument originally stood in the gallery but was later brought down and an organ loft built on the north west side of the chancel. ... The console was placed in an opening in the chancel floor and the organist had to descend a few steps to get to it. When sitting at the console the player was actually below the level of the floor and could neither see the choir nor hear it at all well." The American Organist, January 1922 -Database Manager
2010-08-01 - In 1912, Casavant rebuilt the organ as their Opus 502. "All the pipes of the present organ that can be inserted in the new one will be used, after being well repaired; present case will also be used as it is, no decoration nor any revarnishing." -Database Manager
