2024-01-20 - The *San Francisco Sunday Chronicle* , March 2, 1890, reported the donation of the organ, to be built by "George S. Hutchings of Boston" (see under "Documents"). "A New Church Organ," *San Francisco Morning Call*, July 25, 1890, 3, Newspapers.com, accessed January 20, 2024, https://www.newspapers.com/image/92940773: The new organ for the First Congregational Church has arrived from Boston. Three cars were needed to carry the 168 boxes in which the organ had been packed in sections. A large zinc-lined shed has been built in the rear of the church in which will be placed the machinery necessary to operate the organ. It will take from a month to six weeks to place the organ in working order. The interior of the church is being handsomely renovated. Clarence Eddy inaugurated the organ in two recitals on September 4 and 5, 1890 (see under "Documents"). -Charles Eberline
