Notes

2008-12-24 - Identified through information published in John Ferguson's Walter Holtkamp: American Organ Builder (DMA treatise, Eastman School of Music, 1976). Although neither Votteler-Holtkamp-Sparling nor their successor Holtkamp Organ Co. assigned Opus numbers to their instruments, this organ was identified in factory documents as Job number 1724. That number appears here as the Opus number of this instrument. -Database Manager

2016-06-12 - Updated through online information from Jim Thompson.
The stop list (http://www.agolexington.org/central-christian-lexington-stoplist.pdf) is on the Lexington AGO website. It also indicates that Associated Organ Builders added 85 digital voices to this instrument, and that in 1994 4 ranks in the Swell were replaced (unmentioned supplier). The church's web site seems quite out-of-date, but mentions a start of a fund to releather the pipe chests (2007, with no update beyond the initial information). -Database Manager

2018-02-23 - Updated by Grant Holcomb, who has heard or played the organ.
The Holtkamp pipework is mostly original. The console was renovated in 1990 by AOB. -Database Manager

2022-02-26 - The organ was installed with two identical consoles - one hidden with the choir behind the reredos and the other a movable one on the main floor in the front; many analog voices added in 1990 by Associated Organ Builders; wings in Holtkamp-style were added on each side of the console to console the new stops; Holtkamp will rebuild the organ in 2022, apparently returning it to the 1964 stoplist with a few appropriate additions. -Jeff Scofield
