2009-03-20 - Identified through on-line information from Chip Mays. -- Substantially rebuilt by John Dower in about 1998. Many ranks retained, but the organ is largely a new instrument with some old ranks retained. Pilcher opus 1071 still forms a large portion of the organ. I was told that church members purchased the Pilcher organ from a Mr. McCracken who had it stored in his garage. I believe he was in Hendersonville, NC, where this organ was installed originally. He helped the White Oak folks install it in their new sanctuary. It still had the Pilcher chests when I played it several years prior to rebuilding. Some ranks had been added on offset chests however. The console was a Möller console. -Database Manager
