2009-04-03 - Identified through online information from David Ritch. -- In the early 1950's, the Charles Miller Organ Co. replaced the tubular-pneumatic action with electro-pneumatic action and replaced the couplers, adding two to the original six. -Database Manager

Daniel Hancock. -- Apple, 1985, records "This organ is the oldest instrument in Charlotte which has not been altered by revoicing or replacement of pipes. The case of mahogany with stencilled facade pipes. The original two-manual console, first built with tubular-pneumatic action, is attached to the case with terraced stopknobs. There are eleven ranks, number 640 pipes. The organ was dedicated on June 13, 1910, by Harry J. Zehm, assisted by May Penfield-Guthrie, soprano, as part of the dedicatory services of the new "meeting-house". In the early 1950's, the Charles J. Miller Co. of Charlotte replaced the action with electro-pneumatic and replaced the couplers, adding two to the original six." -Database Manager
