2009-07-15 - Updated through online information from Tzaims Luksus, FRSA. -- This 1842 Stevens Tracker Organ is in perfect condition and beautifully installed and restored. Some restoration is ongoing as is the case of any antique and historic organ of this period. The full cabinet case is 14 feet tall, 10 1/2 feet wide and 7 feet deep. It consists of 5 banks of pipes with three cornice towers, one on either end with a central cornice tower taller in the center. From center: 5 open diapason pipes, next two either side 4 pipes each and ends: three pipes each. All frontal pipes play. Frontal pipes are original gold leaf with elegant paintings in pale blue quatrefoil with mauve and blue filigree designs. The light honey/tan wood is rich and without varnish. Only a wax finish and natural wood colour. All in all this 1842 Stevens Tracker Organ is perhaps the most beautiful in existence of the few Stevens known to survive and beautifully preserved, maintained and cared for by its owner: Tzaims Luksus, FRSA and permanently installed without any alteration what-so-ever in his residence of Buckthorne Hall in Old Bennington, Vermont. Visitors and/or organists must make appointment in advance for viewing or playing. This organ is privately owned on private property. I have added a corrected stoplist. -- Recessed console with pair of sliding doors -Database Manager
