2009-04-24 - Identified through information in List of More than 5200 Moller Pipe Organs (Hagerstown, Maryland. M. P. Möller, 1928). -Database Manager

2013-11-18 - This was a rebuild of the existing organ, which includes extending the manual and pedal compasses to 61 and 30; a second-hand Pedal Trombone as added, as well as three new Swell stops; the church was named a cathedral in 1912; replaced in 1920 by 4/39 Austin Op. 955, retaining some of the Moller. -Database Manager

2018-02-27 - Updated by William M. Worden, who gave this as the source of the information: Personal knowledge of the building and its predecessor.

There is confusion here. This cannot be a rebuild of a previous organ in this building, because construction on the building was begun in 1908. The church was not named the cathedral in 1912; it was planned as and built as a cathedral. (It is called St. Paul's Cathedral in architectural publications in 1910, for example.) It is possible that this Moller is a rebuilding and enlargement of the organ from the previous St. Paul's Episcopal Church, which stood at the northwest corner of West Congress and Shelby in the center of Detroit. That church was the seat of the bishop from the establishment of the Episcopal diocese in 1832, but somehow never acquired the title of cathedral. -Database Manager
