2023-06-07 - "And after I lined up a few shots…I spoke to the homeowners of that gabled house. The house itself was originally the First Presbyterian Church’s rectory, and now it’s a private residence. And the church itself? It was razed long ago. Apparently the church had fallen into disrepair and was torn down in 2003; the site now exists as a parking lot for the Town and Village Court (which, incidentally, exists as another repurposed former church building)." 2023-06-07 - Church to be demolished announced December 2003 in the *Troy Record*: Mayor Ellen McNulty-Ryan recently was victorious in state Supreme Court in proving the old, decaying building at 66 Hudson Ave. is a “public safety hazard” and could collapse at any time... Early last summer, bricks were seen falling to the ground from the top of the building, prompting village officials to hire surveyors from Clough Harbour & Associates to investigate the potential danger the structure posed to residents. Inspectors concluded in their report that the building was “dangerous and unsafe” and in violation of numerous village codes, and advised that the property be demolished “immediately.” By late June, the situation became so dire that construction crews were called in to shore up a side of the building with a brace. A family living adjacent to the building was warned about the danger and promptly moved out... She also is expecting to address the village’s current parking problems by transforming the property into a parking lot, which would give more options for village employees and those visiting Town Court.
