Notes

2009-06-11 - Identified through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- This was the electrification of the existing Methuen Organ Co. instrument on its original slider chests, and with tonal changes. The original Great 8' 'string' was replaced with a Skinner Erzähler, and the Swell Oboe was replaced with a Flugel Horn though the knob still says Oboe. The building was built in 1896 as First Church of Christ, Scientist. That congregation merged at an unknown date with the Andover, MA congregation and the building was subsequently sold to by Judson Memorial Baptist. At the time of my visit in June 1988, the organ was fully playable, but not being used. -Database Manager

2022-07-02 - Clarification of various building names over the years -Andrew Scanlon

2022-07-09 - Visited the church this afternoon. Instrument exists in front gallery intact. Leather issues relating to the blower would not allow the instrument to be turned on. It is now a Hispanic Baptist church with a very nice congregation. They do not use the organ but seem appreciative of knowing its history. July 2022: organ facade is partially concealed by a black curtain and an AV screen. inspection of chamber reveals that the entire organ is intact. -Andrew Scanlon

2022-07-10 - Organ could be made playable with a few blower repairs and various leather replacements. -Andrew Scanlon
