2022-07-30 - **Email from David Smith, 30 July 2022:** Agnes Lee was my father's (Paul C Smith born Kokomo 1910) Aunt. My father was an accomplished amateur pianist and Aunt Agnes was one of his teachers. I had been in the house (814 W Mulberry) several times as a child ("the house with the pipe organ!"). This must have been around 1965. As she was a general music teacher I remember a grand piano, an upright piano and a string bass, all in the large music parlor. I see that Agnes Lee and her mother Annie are listed as sole occupants of the house in the 1940 census. It is unclear how they could afford a large house in an upscale neighborhood while the rest of my family were fairly poor farmers outside of Kokomo. Anyhow, thanks for the info and I hope that a little personal context is useful to you. -Paul R. Marchesano
