2009-08-13 - Identified through online information from Bruce Shull. -- Three stops were replaced when the organ was moved to Leawood: the Octave 4, Octave 2, and Sesquialtera II. The Octave 4 pipes were made by the workshop of Martin Pasi and the Octave 2 and Sesquialtera were built in the pipe shop of Paul Fritts. All three new stops were voiced by Bruce Shull at the Fritts shop. This is undoubtedly the only organ in the world with pipes by Stinkens, A. R. Schopp, Brombaugh (wooden pipes), Pasi, and Fritts. The organ was originally voiced by George Taylor and Herman Greunke. It is in a fumed white oak case with sugar pine pipe shades designed and executed by Herman Greunke. The hand lettered stop plates were done by Herman Greunke as well. The natural keys are satinwood and the sharps are grenadilla. The stop knobs and pedal sharps are rosewood. The facade pipes are a high tin alloy. The original interior pipes by Stinkens were of a 17% tin alloy while the Schopp pipes were lead. The new pipes are from a high lead alloy and they have been hammered. The organ is tuned in Werckmeister III as it has been from its original building. -Database Manager
