Notes

2009-08-16 - Identified through online information from Paul Marchesano. -- From parish history: The church pipe organ built by C.F. Haskell & Co. was installed in 1914 and was declared to be one of the finest such instruments in the city. The large console contained four manuals and forty four stops. -Database Manager

2010-02-23 - Updated through online information from John McEnerney. -- Possibly 4 manuals originally. Now controlled by a used 3 manual Austin Console. Four keyboard chests present although the solo (sparse) is wired to the GT. Some unification. Very beautiful Romantic tone, no upperwork to speak of. Numerous cyphers and dead notes. Pastor considering a rebuild of mechanism which will do wonders for the instrument. The organ is very substantial and is a gem in the rough. Slider chests with C.S. Haskell pulldown mechanism. Not a retrofitted tracker. -Database Manager

2020-11-19 - The [Philadelphia] city’s Committee on Historic Designation approved the nomination of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and Rectory, 1616 S. 17th St., to be included on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places, an inventory encompassing more than 22,000 properties and 15 historic districts across the city. -Paul R. Marchesano
