2025-05-29 - First organ likely 1887. From church history web page: Christ Lutheran Church began as a mission to establish an English-speaking church in South Baltimore. With the Rev. Dr. Leander M. Zimmerman as pastor, the first worship service was held in Triumph Hall, at 1240 Light Street, on December 18, 1887, with 150 people attending the morning service and 115 attending the evening service. Four months after the first service, the congregation had grown to 355 members and needed a new place to worship. Christ Church was formally organized and purchased an old Methodist-Episcopal church located at 9 E. Hill Street, in Baltimore. The previous congregation sold the building because, in their words, “there is no future here.” -Paul R. Marchesano
