2017-10-16 - Updated by Steven Bartley, naming this as the source of information: Sun Paper 11/1/1915 pg 4. Additionally, Steven Bartley listed this website as a source of information: https://www.facebook.com/abschurch/.
Originally formed as Starr Methodist Protestant Church, in 1864 at Poppleton & Lemmon sts. Wesley Starr was a wealthy and very staunch Methodist living in the neighborhood near the B&O railroad complex. His religious leanings were very conservative and provided money, in his will for this building. He also stipulated that NO musical instruments were to be used. In 1915, the congregation moved to a new building, Garrison Blvd and Alto Ave. By then they desired a pipe organ, and spent time in court to alter the original tenants of the Starr will.
The present owners of the building "Apostolic Bible Study Church" show a photo of the Moller facade on their Facebook page. A video, found on the church website, shows that a wood panel has been inserted where the original keydesk would have been; it is carried out in a manner that indicates it was made possibly by Moller. It is conceivable that Moller would have been hired, at a later date, to modernize the organ. The photo also shows what appears to be Hammond on the left side of the pulpit area. -Database Manager
