2013-12-20 - Updated through online information from John McCraney. -- Personal knowledge from visiting the town and the church throughout the 1950s and several times later: By the late 1950s there were no visible organ pipes. Pipes could have been behind a grille. There was a nice sounding 8-4 type organ, perhaps electronic. The church did have a Hammond C-3 by 1960. By the early 1990s there was a newer electronic.<br>The church itself is quite impressive--excellent stained woodwork and high, arched beamed/paneled ceiling. Good large stained glass windows in the auditorium. Modified Akron plan, with balconies with Sunday school rooms on two oblique side/rear walls. The building dates from the early 20th century, when the town had resort visitors, two companies, and a strong, growing economy before the Great Depression. This probably explains the superb design and appointments of several churches in town. At one time there were no deadening materials. I don't know the situation now. -Database Manager
