2021-12-07 - Olivet Church invited the Covenant Presbyterian Church to consider a merger of the two congregations. Covenant Church had a long and honored history of its own. Having been founded in 1835 as the Second Reformed Presbyterian Church, meeting at 22nd and Callowhill Streets, it came under the jurisdiction of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A., in 1885, at which lime it became the Covenant Presbyterian Church. The proposal to merge was accepted by Covenant Church, and the union of the two churches was effected on September 7, 1908. -Paul R. Marchesano
