2014-02-12 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This organ began life as a 2-manual, 6-rank Kimball built for an unidentified location. In 1947, Balcom and Vaughan of Seattle, Washington rebuilt the organ and provided a new console. The organ was installed at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Seattle in an elevated chamber at the front of the church on the left side. <br>When Our Redeemer's Lutheran contracted for a new pipe organ, the existing organ was moved in 1973 by Balcom and Vaughan and installed "as is" here at Fife Presbyterian Church. The pipe chamber was at the front on the left side with the console in front of it. In <br>1994, Fife Presbyterian changed its name to Mission Woods Presbyterian Church and moved to a new facility in adjacent Milton, Washington. The organ was sold along with the building to a Korean Presbyterian congregation, but the organ was ultimately given to the Pipe Organ Foundation of Mercer Island, Washington around 2003, and utilized for parts in various projects. -Database Manager
