2020-11-21 - From the NYC AGO NYC Organ Project: Emmanuel Evangelical Church was organized in 1887 as the Melrose Street Mission of the Evangelical Association. The church building was located on Melrose Street near Flushing Avenue. In 1968, the congregation became a United Methodist Church, following the merger of the Evangelical Association, Evangelical United Brethren, and Methodist Episcopal denominations. The church closed in 1970.The church closed in 1970. -Jeff Scofield
