2010-03-10 - Identified through online information from L. Curt Mangel, III. -- Our staff was asked to inspect a small two manual Kimball organ in Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia, which has been slated to be closed on June 30th of this year. We discovered that the organ is marked #7175, and is a rebuild of an earlier instrument with additions. The original instrument is intact, including the original factory paper job labels dated 1915. A single pipe, tenor C of the Open Diapason 8, is hand marked for a theatre. We need to double check the exact name, but it is possible that it is "Strand Theatre." To the original 10 ranks has been added an Octave 4 and a Dolce Cornet III (12.15.17). We are attempting to save the organ and remove it from the auditorium of the school before the building closes in June 2010. -Database Manager
