2013-05-10 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The Appleton & Davis was originally installed in the rear gallery of the church. It was reportedly moved to the front in 1890, but an extant photograph from July 31, 1886 when the church ceiling caved-in shows the organ already installed in an alcove in the front by this time. The Appleton & Davis was replaced ca. 1919 by a new Kimball, Smallman & Frazee. It's disposition at that time is unknown. <br>The church was formed in 1847 as Amesbury Street Baptist Church, and the first edifice was built that same year. This second building was built a scant 3 years later in 1850. -Database Manager
