2010-06-14 - Updated through on-line information from Jeff Scofield. -- The 1924 church was immense with a very high ceiling; the pipe scales must have been truly heroic; the 2004 Images of America publication "Catholic Churches of Detroit" says that the building had suffered serious deterioration over the years, particularly the foundation, due to periodic flooding of the nearby river; the parish website now shows a modern and much smaller building. -Database Manager
2018-06-23 - On July 1, 2012, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in River Rouge and St. Frances Xavier Parish in Ecorse merged to form St. Andre Bessette Parish. The Our Lady of Lourdes church site closed. The community worships at the site in Ecorse. -Database Manager
