2010-08-14 - Identified through on-line information from Jeff Scofield. -- During a remodelling that followed a fire in 1980, the gallery was removed and the organ moved to the front of the nave. -Database Manager
2016-04-14 - Updated through online information from Amy Michaels. <br>The organ is functional although it is in need of repairs. St. Vincent's does not have a full-time organist, but instead the music director plays the organ. The organ is seldom used for regular services. It is used mainly for major holidays. -Database Manager
2022-09-25 - In July 2020, a restoration project began to repair wind lines and reservoirs, and re-leather the wind chests. The 4-manual console will also eventually be rebuilt and upgraded with current technology. This work is planned to be completed in phases, with an unknown timeline. All pipes are present and in good condition, and the restoration hopes to correct dead notes. While the church has not had an organist in nearly 30 years, the organ is occasionally used for funerals, weddings, Christmas, and Easter. The organ has a beautiful sound with a romantic tonal design. The pedal division has two true 32' stops, one being a spectacular Contra Trombone. The organ, when built, supported a sanctuary nearly double the size of the current sanctuary. In April of 1980, a fire badly damaged the altar area, and also damaged the recently upgraded Casavant organ. When the church re-opened in 1985, church officials re-examined the use of the space and the sanctuary was effectively cut in half, with the other half being transformed into offices and meeting spaces. The Casavant organ lives on as a rather large organ in a now-smaller space. It is approaching nearly 100 years old, and with on-going maintenance and restorative work, should live on for decades to come. -Anonymous
