2024-12-28 - "The first St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Patton was erected in 1893, during the earliest inception of the town, and was intended only as a temporary place of worship until the growth of Patton should warrant a more commodious structure (the first structure was dismantled and relocated to become St. George Church). The laying of the corner stone, on the present building, was on May 22, 1898 which for the past 122 years has been named our Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary’s and now Queen of Peace. Prior to 1995, the Catholic community of the Patton area was comprised of three Churches: St. Lawrence Church (1854-1995); St. Mary’s Church (1898-1995); and St. George Church (1907-1995).
