2011-08-16 - Updated through online information from Steven E. Lawson. -- The organ contains select pipework from Wicks organ (1911, Op. 38) from earlier chapel, and from Austin organ (1902, Op. 65) for the Bush Temple of Music, Chicago. Much of the remainder of the organ was made onsite by the Wiener family and members of the Divine Word community. A portion of the organ was playable for the chapel dedication in 1923, but the instrument was not completed until about 1930. There are two consoles: a 4-manual in the rear gallery, and a 2-manual in the triforium at the front of the chapel. -Database Manager

2014-02-17 - Updated through online information from Tim Rabeler. -- This is a Great Organ and a debate has been underway as to whether to restore it to its full glory. -Database Manager

2015-02-17 - Updated through online information from Tim Rabeler. -- Thanks to ongoing efforts, this organ is again in working condition. A special thanks goes out to Andrew Szymanski and the team at CITY ORGAN WORKS (Chicago, IL) for their painstaking, exceptional and dedicated on-going work to repair this organ to its original glory and functionality. It is noteworthy to state that their on-going work is maintaining this beautiful organ-s integrity as a truly "unique organ" that it is without the need to modify or replace any components with modern parts. -Database Manager

2017-01-09 - Updated by David Rhodes, who maintains the organ. <br>All manual relays are 73 note compass, the Pedal relay is 44 note compass. -Database Manager
