2007-06-12 - Updated through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- According to Möller promotional materials, the organ was to have been free-standing and encased at the front of the chapel. The case -- as it appeared in drawings -- was five-sectional containing 31 pipes arranged: 5-5-11-5-5. The case was to have been of Honduras mahogany, 25.5' high and 17.5' wide. The Grand Orgue 16' Violoncelle and 8' Montre were to be en facade. Manual natural keys were to be of bone with sharps of ebony. Pedalboard was to be flat and parallel with radiating sharps. Pedal keys to have been of maple for the naturals, and oak with ebony caps for the sharps. Five of the six unison couplers were to have been activated by hitch-downs. The stops were to have been Cavaille-Coll style drawknobs with procelain faces. The organ was to have four ventil foot levers (Appels). The entire Positif division and the Gr. Orgue 4' Clairon were prepared-for. Installation was to have been begun in December, 1991. With prepared-for stops, the organ would have been 27 registers, 33 speaking stops, 33 ranks, and 1,777 pipes. -Database Manager
