2011-10-28 - Updated through online information from Robert Dare. -- I had opportunity to visit this organ, still used every Sunday. Swell has ciphers and is unused. The tracker action is still original, only the air turbine is "new." I tuned the piano my father played all during his youth for services. My grandfather graduated from Wyoming Seminary, where this instrument was originally installed, in nearby Wilkes Barre. I doubt the congregation will update the instrument. The walkboard between chambers is very narrow. The Swell is under expression. It was an extreme pleasure to hear what my grandfather heard, a full bodied organ with only one chamber used. (and to tune "dad's old upright, circa 1895.) I actually matched the pitch to the organ (A-439), which shows the over engineering craftsmanship of US builders of that day. Hard to beat. -Database Manager
