2012-07-01 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This was the addition of a new Pedal 16-8-4 Bombarde unit in the Great chamber, and playable on the Great at 8' & 4' pitches. The former 16' Pedal Posaune (pipes 1-12 and chest) were moved to the Swell to go with the existing 8' Trompette/4' Clarion unit. In 1991, a 37-note "mounted Cornet" was added to the Great on a new chest suspended from the ceiling of the Great slider chest enclosure. A new Peterson solid state combination action was also added in 1991, replacing the Wicks remote combination action added in 1959 by Seattle Wicks Rep. Charles W. Allen. -Database Manager

In this tonal change from the 1977 organ, the original plan was to take the original Pedal 16' Posaune pipes 1-12 and chest, and move them to the Swell to play with the existing 8' Trompette/4' Clarion unit. Then a new 16-8-4 Bombarde unit was to be placed in the Great chamber and take the place of the former Pedal 16' Posaune, and the 8' Trompette and 4' Clarion borrowed from the Swell on the Pedal. Also the original Kimball 16' Fagotto was going to be eliminated from the Swell stoplist, but remain in the Pedal. And the remaining Posaune was to be stored in the Swell for future use as an 8' Hautbois (notes 1-20). The materials for this – pipework and windchests – was to cost $9,910.00 A decision was made to expand the added 16-8-4 Bombarde for use on the Great manual up thru the 4' Clairon, so pipes 57 – 85 were added to the plan. The Great chimes drawknob and the blank drawknob were used for this addition. On the Swell, the 16' Trompette took the place of the original 4' Oboe, and the Kimball 16' Fagotto was retained as a manual stop. This work was contracted in 1988 and completed in 1989. The material costs for pipes and windchests was $11,860.00 and the labor was an additional $5,320.00. In 1991, a IV-rank “Mounted Cornet” [of sorts] was added to the Great on a new windchest suspended from the roof of the Great slider chest enclosure. It's compass is 37-notes, tenor G thru g 56. It took the place of the original 4' Quintaten stop. The remote combination added in 1959 by Wicks representative Charles W. Allen was also replaced in 1991 with a new Peterson solid state combination action installed in the console. The number of General pistons was increased from 8 to 12. This required the removal of the Echo to Ped. reversible piston. Four additional toe studs were also added to the lower knee panel for the added Generals. The Harp was added later, and plays from the former Positiv Cymbel Stern drawknob.
