2012-08-02 - Identified through online information from David Hendricksen. -- I grew up in this church, where my father was organist, and my first teacher. The organ was installed in chambers behind the altar in front of the church and hiding stained glass windows. No pipework was visible. The three manual console, and the choir loft were located in the right transept. At some point in the 1980's the church was renovated, Kilgen organ removed, choir, and an electronic organ placed in the rear gallery, and the front stained glass windows exposed. -Database Manager

2021-01-26 - I have just come across the 1943 centenial anniversary booklet for First Lutheran Church, Fort Smith, AR. From that booklet comes the following information: Organ dedicated October 13, 1929 Recital played by Professor Albert Beck of Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, IL (Institution is now known as Concordia University Chicago) Cost of the organ was $8980.00 Cost of chamber preparation and other misc. $3728.00 It also indicates that there was an Echo division. I began learning to play organ at this instrument when I was in grade school, and vaguely recall that the Echo division was non-functional at that time. It does not appear in the stoplist that I furnished some years ago, but there were tabs for that division on the console.
