Notes

2012-08-13 - Identified through online information from T. Daniel Hancock. -- The organ was rebuilt in 2010. The casework and facade pipes were painstakingly restored along with the rest of the former Sanctuary of Central Avenue Methodist Church, which is now the Cook Grand Hall of the Indiana Landmarks Center. It was impossible to ascertain with reliability the original action, so Goulding & Wood provided new electro-pneumatic slider windchests, and built a new console which has the appearance and feel of a late-19th century detached keydesk. One stop was added, the Pedal Trombone 16, and the pedal compass was extended from 27 to 30 notes. The harp unit from 1921 was restored and reinstalled with the organ. The former Aeoline is now a Celeste. -Database Manager

2012-11-10 - Updated through online information from Timothy E. Conyers. -- Sadly, this organ will not be heard often by the general public. Rental fees of the former church sanctuary (the Grand Hall), where the organ is housed, are in excess of $3500.00. Add another $2900.00 for a reception in the Cook Theater (former fellowship hall). In order to rent the facility one must also be a member of the Indiana Landmarks or sign a contract which specifies one must become a member for one year. These high rental fees will definitely discourage any local organist or even the two organ societies of Indianapolis from showcasing this instrument. (Rental fee information supplied by Indiana Landmarks). -Database Manager

2013-07-09 - Updated through online information from Tom Nichols. -- The Pedal 16' Trombone was added by Goulding & Wood, upon suggestion by noted organist Charles H. Webb, former Dean of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. -Database Manager

2017-05-07 - Combined with 4/87 1931 Casavant Op. 1414 that was removed from the Auditorium of the T. Eaton, Ltd., department store in Toronto. -Database Manager
