All stops were full 16 Posaune Bass compass save the 16' reed stops on the Swell and Choir, which began at tenor C. The stops marked with an asterisk (*) were retained from the Richard Bridge organ. The Great Contra Diapason was probably the old 8' Open Diapason fitted with a new bass octave to extend it down to 16' pitch, since the Great Open Diapason of 1860 was new. The Swell 3-rank mix- ture is probably a reworking of the ranks of the old Bridge Great Cor- net. The Choir 4' Flute d'Amour is apparently the old Choir Flute 4', and the Swell Clarion 4 would seem to be the old short-compass Swell Trumpet moved up an octave, the 8' Swell Trumpet being the one formerly in the Great division. ______________________________________________________________________________ [Received online from T.
